A decree from the Circuit Superior Court of Law and Chancery, 6 pages. It declares a guardian for minors being represented in the suit. Declares that a parcel of land purchased after drawing up the will does not descend to Elizabeth Elliott with the rest of Kemp's property, but that she is entitled to a dower portion of one third of the property. The whole parcel is to be measured and sold, and the profits divided between the parties entitled to it. Several accounts are demanded, including how Frederick Power has been handling Kemp's estate.

Elizabeth Elliott Estate Statement of Bonds, 1860 January 1
Estates (Law)--Virginia
Claims against decedents' estates--Virginia.
Plantations-- Virginia--History.
A list of bonds due to the estate of Elizabeth Elliott, 2 pages. Signs of past infestations. Clean now, but damage remains primarily at the lower half. Paper is quite yellowed, and from the pattern of yellowing it appears the chewed on section may have been farther out of the box than the rest of the items. Another paper that appears to have been used to bind other papers, this one the bonds. From the names on the page, these may have been the bonds for the renting of certain enslaved people listed in the bonds and promissory notes.. The lower half of the paper seems to have been used in calculating how much was owed.
