Bystanders are two architectural draftsmen who worked on Williamsburg's restoration, George S. Campbell and J. Everette Fauber. The structure was demolished a few years later.

Several signs mark the busy intersection, including one for the Pocahontas Tea Room, one for taxi service, and a road sign pointing to Jamestown. This block is part of what is today know as Merchants Square.
