Description

One of a series of ten photo albums encompassing images from the late 1940s to early 1950s of sites at Colonial Williamsburg, various counties in Virginia, Maryland, North Carolina, South Carolina, Pennsylvania, Delaware, and Great Britain. Album Nine consists of photographs taken during Frank's research trip to Great Britain in 1951. Towns and cities featured in the album include Alton, Amersham, Aynho, Bath, Bruton, Canterbury, Coggeshall, Cranbrook, Groomsbridge, Holybourne, Lavenham, Milton Abbas, Tewkesbury, and West Wycombe. The photos focus upon frame buildings and brick cottages and document various architectural details, such as clapboard siding, brickwork, chimneys, cornices, dormers, gables, windows, and doors.
