Page two, Seabees patch accompanied by narrative, “The first assignment was to the United States Naval Construction Training Center, Camp Peary near Williamsburg, Virginia. This was the home of the Construction Battalions, the 'Seabees'. " A Seabee Patch. "A 'Seabee' is pictured as a bee wearing a sailor's cap and hopping mad expression on his face. In his front legs he carries a machine gun, in the middle pair a wrench and in the hind legs a hammer. " "At Camp Peary, I was assigned to the Officers Training School where I ran the Sick Bay and lectured on Military Hygiene, Here I was associated with a fine group of officers. All of them were engineers, many of them Annapolis graduates. They taught me many things and I shall never forget such men ad Sihler, Greer, Bentley, Davies, Corsbie and Collier."
