Description

Page fourteen, narrative, “In April 1944, I was transferred with the Officer’s Training School to the U.S. Naval Construction Training Center at Camp Endicott in Rhode Island. There are no pictures here of Camp Endicott. Ethel had come home to stay. I was living in the Bachelor Officers Quarters. No one was permitted to take photographs in the camp during wartime so I sent my camera home. From here on all pictures were taken by official Navy photographers. On the ship, that was Dr. White our Dental Officer. I was instrumental in having him appointed and he gave me copies of all his films except those of the initiation ceremony when we crossed the Equator. I must try to get them."
