Page twenty-five, group of photos captioned, “Our first major operation was an appendectomy performed on one of the Amy passengers the evening before we crossed the Equator. Everything went smoothly and the patient was up the next day. Corpsman Dlotkowsky Ph MII was operating room technician and he was a wonder. Dr. Thomasson assisted and Dr. Anderson was the anesthetist. Three months later we had to take out Dr. Anderson's appendix."
