Postcard, "Deane Shop and Forge, Williamsburg, Virginia," Text on verso reads: 'In 1772, Elkanah Deane, a coach and riding chair maker, purchased a substantial dwelling which stood at the corner of this property. This smaller building, now reconstructed, served as his shop and forge.'
