Description

Archaeological survey of the lot formerly occupied by Mount Ararat Baptist Church, Francis Street, Williamsburg, Virginia. Remains of foundation of 24 x 22 foot building located on Francis Street 100 feet east of the Graves House. This was evidently a brick building as the wall thickness was 19 inches. The Frenchman's map of 1782 or '86 does not show any evidence that this building existed when his map was made. See also archaeological drawing for Block 2, Area F.
