Chiswell-Bucktrout House (Williamsburg, Va.)
Archaeological sites - Virginia - Williamsburg

Description

Recto and verso, progress photo of excavated foundations of two outbuildings, possibly kitchens, at the Chiswell-Bucktrout House archaeological site., Notation of the verso reads: "Fragmentary remains of what were two kitchen outbuildings located approximately 45 feet east of presentBucktrout-Chiswell house. The earliest building on the site had a very large chimney but the dimensions of the building itself could not be determined because all evidence was destroyed when the second building was constructed. The location and dimensions of the second building were determined only by tracing the fill. See archaeological drawing for Block 2, Area H."
