Description

Postcard featuring a horse drawn carriage pulled up in front of the entrance gate to the Governor's Palace complex. Part of a series of photos taken by The Albertype Co. of Brooklyn, New York, and published by the Williamsburg Drug Co., the card shows the front elevation of the Governor's Palace soon after it opened as an exhibition building in 1934.

The caption reads: "The reconstructed Governor's Palace, Williamsburg, Virginia, on its original foundation. An authentic replica of the house or palace where royal governor's of Virginia lived while Williamsburg was the capital of the colony."
